Jennifer A. Young-McDonald

Jennifer A. (Young) McDonald, 40, of Springfield passed away on March 16, 2015. Jennifer was born on October 14, 1974, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Barbara (Godfrey) and Jim Young Jr. Jennifer worked in Springfield as a medical paralegal assistant for Davis Law Offices and then later for Shay & Associates Law Firm. Outside of work Jennifer was an active member of A.B.A.T.E. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle, tending her vegetable garden which she was taught by her grandfather, and creating beautiful needlework that she learned from her grandmother. Jennifer was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Springfield.

Surviving Jennifer are her children: Joshua, Kaleb, and Ashlyne McDonald, their father Larry McDonald all of Pekin, IL, her father Jim (Nancy) Young of Roodhouse, IL, her mother Barbara (Robert) Patterson of Springfield, sister Krista (Michael) Ryback of St. Louis, MO, aunts; Carol Godfrey, and Cindy (Lee) Milner both of Springfield, as well as several step brothers, step sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Jennifer in death was her grandparents; Jim and Agnes Young Sr., and David and Mary Ann Godfrey, and Brian Austin Tomlin.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bisch & Son Funeral Home 505 E Allen St. Springfield, IL 62703. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral service officiated by Rev. Kathy Sweet at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers those who wish may leave memorials in Jennifer’s name to Mental Health Centers of Central Illinois.
