Jerrald Robert Yeoward, Jr.

Jerrald Robert Yeoward Jr., 60, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday March 1, 2015 in Savannah, Georgia. He was born on October 19, 1954 in Sterling, IL., to Jerrald Robert Yeoward Sr., and Millie Yeoward Unger. He married Shelly Hart in Rock Falls, IL., on June 17, 1973 and she survives.

Jerry is also survived by his mother Millie Yeoward Unger of Sterling, IL., one daughter Jennifer (Chad) Story of Aurora, IL., one son Timothy (Julie) Yeoward of Champaign, IL., seven grandchildren: Emilee, Lauren, and Jenna Jenkins, Tyler, Brianna, and Jordan Story, and Sophia Yeoward, three sisters: LouAnn Cox, Betty Yeoward, and Linda Wypasek, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Michael Yeoward.

Mr. Yeoward graduated from Western Illinois University in 1976. He was the Manager of Performance Management and Reporting for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Office of Employment and Training retiring in January of 2014 after more that 20 years of service. Jerry enjoyed golf, traveling, being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he was a fierce Bears, Cubs, and University of Illinois fan.

A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00am on Friday March 6, 2015 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. The family will meet friends for a memorial visitation from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday at Bisch West.
