

Jerrie Lynn Wright, 80, of Springfield, formerly of Chatham, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at St. Johns Hospital. She was born on March 16, 1937, in Flora, IL. She attended Springfield High School before marrying Arlan Cloyd in 1955; they divorced in 1973. She married Gerald Lewis Wright on May 14, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, parents Cora and Woody Walden and her childrens father, Arlan Cloyd. Jerrie owned and operated a hair care salon, worked in cosmetics at Bressmers and Myers Brothers Department stores, and retired from the Illinois Board of Education in 2007. During her retirement, she dedicated her time to the church, Kumler Food Pantry, and her family. She loved her dogs and researching genealogy. Jerrie will be greatly missed by her children, Blake (Brenda) Cloyd, Shelly Cloyd, Bret (Carrie) Cloyd, all of Springfield, Lisa (Terry) Schad of Wildwood, MO and Shawn Stufer of Springfield; grandchildren, Zach (Susan) Burg, Ben (Katie) Cloyd, Tara (Brad) Ebner, Jo Burg, Bart (Melanie) Cloyd, Blaire Cloyd, Brooke (Zach) Bell, Jessica Cloyd, Luke Cloyd and Nikki Cloyd; and 10 great grandchildren. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham, before services. Her family will greet friends from 4-7pm, Thursday, April 6, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, 62629. Memorial Service will follow at 7pm, with Pastor John Standard officiating.
