

Jerry R. Stritzel-Andrew, 47, of Springfield, died at 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Jerry was born September 8, 1959 in Canyon, Texas, the son of John Roland and Kathleen Ena Stritzel-Walsh. He was later adopted by Robert E. and Eugenia Walsh Andrew. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1976 – 1978. He worked for Painters Local #90 as a dry wall finisher and painter. He attended South East High School. He really loved his children. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, woodworking and watching sports. He was a loving and caring brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his biological parents. He is survived by his adopted parents Robert E. and Eugenia Walsh Andrew; four children: Angie, Willie, Taylor and Tyler; five stepchildren: Larry, Samantha, David, Jenna, and Jerry; six grandchildren; nine brothers: John, James and Joel Stritzel, Jeffrey Stritzel Andrew and Robert, Daniel, John, Thomas and Patrick Andrew; two sisters: Kathleen Stritzel Knorr and Carol Andrew; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Hunter of Sherman Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will perform military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Jerry’s children. The family of Jerry R. Stritzel Andrew is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
