Joan Marie Workman, 88, of Sherman, died at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at St. Johns Hospital. Joan was born May 22, 1930 in Springfield at St. Johns Hospital, the daughter of James B. and Marie Maurer Crawford. She married Donald Workman on November 25, 1950 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Joan graduated from Ursuline Academy, class of 1948. She loved helping others, taking care of her family, and attending family events. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Workman; and brother, James Crawford. Joan is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Michael (Karen) Workman of Springfield; daughters, Diane (Dan) Mounce of Spaulding and Nancy (Charles) Courtwright of Dawson; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Lappen; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th Street, Springfield. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Manuel P. Cuizon, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
