JoAnn Williams, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. JoAnn was born September 5, 1936 in Springfield, the daughter of George W. and Catherine L. Conaway Cole. She married Kenneth E. Williams on October 3, 1954 in Springfield; he preceded her in death. JoAnn was a homemaker and bartender. She was a member of the DAV Club. She enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR racing, and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law; three brothers; two sisters; and companion, Norm Haines. She is survived by two sons, George (Sherry) Williams of Bonnie and Kenneth Williams (Lindsey Carter) of Springfield; daughter, Patricia Tomlin of Springfield; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Cole of South Carolina; sister, Marie Hamende of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Burial will take place at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
