Johanna Rita Seck

Johanna Rita Seck, 91, of Sherman, formerly of Springfield, died at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday November 29th, 2000 at Villa Health Care Center East in Sherman. She was born January 8th, 1909 in Silverton, Colorado, the daughter of Dolpha & Helen Knight Colson. She married Joseph Seck in 1931, and he preceded her in death January 15th, 1993. Mrs. Seck was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Before her marriage, she was employed by Aetna Life and Casualty Company of Kansas City and was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Later, she had been employed by the Marshall Field Company in several locations in the Chicago area. She was also preceded in death by her Son- Robert J. Seck. Surviving is her Daughter- Carole (Husband- Gene) Seck Grubb of Kimberling City, Missouri; 9 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and several Great Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Thursday November 30th, 2000 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South 6th Street in Springfield. The Visitation will begin with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 12 Noon Friday December 1st, 2000 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rev. William Kessler celebrant. Additional Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 2nd, 2000 at the Runyan Funeral Home, 120 South Broadway in Louisburg, Kansas. Committal Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Wea, Kansas.
