John Michael Flynn

He was born on May 8, 1957 in Springfield, the son of John Patrick and Margaret (Pelcher) Flynn. He married Ellen Wikoff on Dec. 27, 1987 and she survives.

Mr. Flynn worked for the Illinois Secretary of State. He had previously been a Pepperidge Farms Distributor for 14 years, having been top salesman for three years in a row. He loved to garden and work in his greenhouse. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Besides his wife Ellen, he is survived by his father John P. Flynn of Springfield; 2 sisters, Becky (husband Glen) Banning and Patty (husband Barry) Buragus, and 2 brothers, Robert (wife Chrisy) Flynn and Jamie (wife Lisa) Flynn, all of Springfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Bill (wife Jen) Wikoff, Wes Wikoff, and Brittney Wikoff.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield where memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 from 3:30 pm until time of the memorial service at 5:30 pm. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
