John Edward Humphrey, passed away at 11:00 PM, January 22, 2001. Mr. Humphrey married Denise Coleman on August 1, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Humphrey was retired from Sangamon State University. Surviving family include: his wife, Denise , sons, Jay (Wife - Anne) Humphrey of Flossmoor, IL, Jerrod Humphrey of Chatham, IL, daughters, Danielle (Husband - Paul) Williams of Heywart, IL and Nicole (Husband - Otto) Peyton of Auburn, IL, six grandchildren, Allie and Joey Humphrey, Taylor and Alexandra Williams and Damian and Christian Peyton. All of his grandchildren called their grandpa, Poppy. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Private family funeral services will be held on Thursday, the Reverend Peter Harman, officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Cemetery, Chatham, Illinois.
