

Jack was born on June 5, 1929, in Springfield, the son of John M. and Regina Magdelina Keefner Andrew. He married Madeline Isley; she preceded him in death. Jack later married Christine Shouse Anderson on September 3, 1977; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2010.
Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed by Fiat Allis until his retirement. He also owned and operated the former Andrew Tavern and sold insurance for the Knights of Columbus for a short time. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4179 and served as a Springfield Alderman for Ward 6. He enjoyed bowling, singing, and driving. Jack also enjoyed all that Springfield had to offer including cruising around the lake and the Illinois State Fairgrounds. His nickname was Tarzan as displayed on his license plate—and his grandchildren loved to hear his Tarzan call.
Jack was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Short; and brother, Larry Andrew.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (husband, Joe) Ponchot of Union, KY and Eva (husband, John) Muller of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Chad Ponchot, Shane Ponchot, and Jodie Ponchot-McDaniel, all of Union, KY, Christina Howard of Cincinnati, OH, Jennifer Schultz of Middletown, OH, David Muller of Portland, OR, and Michael Muller of Huntington Beach, CA; ten great-grandchildren, Bailey, Isabella, and Mason Ponchot, Jordyn and Noah Muller, and Jaelyn, Brandon, Perry, Isiah, and Elijah McDaniel; siblings, Robert Andrew of Springfield and Mary Sue Kelley of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church, 722 S. 12th St., Springfield, with Rev. Jim Isaacson, S.J.C., celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
