John F. "Jack" Langdon, 71, of Springfield, IL, died at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. Jack was born February 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, IL, the son of John Francis Sr. and Mable O' Connell Langdon. He married Georgia Holmes on August 19, 1961 in Murrayville, IL. After graduating from Jacksonville Routt and serving his country in both the Army and as a Navy Reserve, Jack spent 32 years working with Country Companies Insurance. Jack enjoyed playing golf and will be remembered as a great husband, father, and grandfather. Jack is survived by his wife, Georgia Langdon; his son; John Langdon; four daughters, Debbie (husband, Geoff) McCormick, Brenda Langdon, Cathy Wells, and Nancy Schuh, all of Springfield; his brother, Robert (wife, Toni) Langdon of Pawnee, IL; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Church of the Little Flower, at 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL 62703, with Rev. Msgr. John Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors.
