

He was born in Springfield on August 27, 1931, the son of John H. Sr. and Margaret (Weiss) Nation. Bud married Carol Dodd on October 13, 1951, in Knox City, MO.
Bud attended Lanphier High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952. Bud went on to work on farms and was later employed by Pillsbury, Midwest Emery Transportation, and finally retired from Marine Bank after 26 years as a security guard. He was a proud member of the American Legion for 10 years and a devoted member of Loami Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He found enjoyment in riding his Harley, motorcycle races, and a good catfish meal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim, Robert, and Gerald Nation; stepsisters, Mary Lou Wanless and Norma Vatile; daughter-in-law, Robin Nation; and stepbrothers, Jim Wilson and John and Jim Compardo.
Bud is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Herbert (Roxann) of Loami, Tom of Ogden, UT, Richard (Ronda) of Taylorville, and David (Christina) Nation of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Don and Gary (Vickie) Nation, both of Springfield, Janice Radford of Sherman, Carl Compardo of Loami, and Fred Compardo of Marion; 18 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
