John Schultz, 82, of Thayer, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his home. He was born August 3, 1935 in Chicago to John and Sophie Zayanckuski Schultz. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mariann Gempe. John married Carol Jean Yourek October 1, 1960.
John worked as a printer for Carl Gore Printing and Bankers Printing in the Chicago area for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Toy Train Collectors Association; Illinois Railway Museum, District Council 4, Graphic Communication Conference, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. John enjoyed assembling and repairing thingshe was the ultimate handyman for family and friends. He was an avid reader.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Carol; son, John Michael (wife Susan) Schultz of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; daughter, Corrine (husband, Angelo) Roskoske of Des Plains, IL; grandchildren, Matt Schultz, Nicole Roskoske, and Lauren Roskoske; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Private services were held.
