

John Rhea Snow, 66, of Springfield, died at 11:35 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. John was born January 28, 1939 in Paris, TN the son of John Thomas and Annabelle Fitch Snow. Mr. Snow attended Ss. Peter and Paul Grade School and Sacred Heart Grade School and was a graduate of Cathedral Boy’s High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Sangamo Construction; Union Local #16 as a carpenter and later for the State of Illinois in the mail room as a supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Abraham Lincoln Gun Club. He was also a past member of Grand Lodge of Illinois A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by three sons: Todd and Stephen Snow both of Springfield and Tony Snow of LA; one granddaughter: Stephanie Snow; mother: Annabelle Fitch Snow Whitthorne of Springfield; two sisters: Linda Whitthorne of Dawson and Janice Whitthorne of Springfield; several nieces including: Theresa (husband, Donald Brett) Seiber of Dawson, Natalie Spradlin of Dawson and several nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Funeral Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Richard L. Chiola officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Rhea Snow Memorial Fund, c/o Illinois National Bank, 2450 N. Dirksen Pkwy, Springfield, IL 62702.
