

John William Way, of Noblesville, Indiana, formerly of Springfield and Ashland, passed away February 5, 2001 at Riverside Village. He was born May 4, 1922 the son of George R. Way and Ada Frances Fish in Ashland, Illinois. He married Christine Dinora February 14, 1942 in Springfield. She preceded him in death in 1998 Mr. Way had been a bartender at Fritz's Paradice in Springfield. He had also farmed in Ashland for 10 years and he was the Owner and Operator of Chris & John's Resturant. He also served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and B.P.O. Elks 158. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by a daughter: Debbie (husband, Dale)Schroeder of Chillicothe, IL; son: Gregory (wife, Judy) Way of Noblesville, IN and four grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday February 8, 2001. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church Friday, February 9, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. with Reverend David Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will perform.
