Jon Alan Ackman

Jon was born in Macomb, IL May 13, 1950 the son of James K and Dorothy M (Willard) Ackman. He married Ebba Firnstahl in Springfield, June 28, 1980 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children; Eric P (Dee) Ackman of Springfield, Jon L (Robin) Ackman of Virden, IL, and Hidie (Joe) Duffey of Englewood, FL,, three grandchildren, his brother, James (Janet) Ackman of Baltimore, MD and a niece. His parents preceded him in death.

Jon worked for 30 years at the Hub Clothiers and then retired from Memorial Medical Center, now Springfield Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed history and especially Civil War research and collecting memorabilia. He loved to bird watch from the front porch of his home, and was fascinated by the eagles and blue herons. He was a member of the Carlinville First Church.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, August 16, 2024 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL 62703 with Pastor Steve Schmidt officiating.
