Joseph Michael "Joey" Sandhaas

Joey was born February 16, 2003, in Springfield, the son of Patricia Ann Felton and Jeffery Lloyd Sandhaas.

Joey was a student at Glenwood High School in Chatham, where he was a straight A honor student and played on the basketball and track team. He also played soccer for fun and baseball and football when he was younger. Joey worked at Baskin-Robbins and babysat his niece and nephew every weekend. He loved his dog, Jasper, enjoyed spending time with friends, playing his Xbox, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan. Those who knew Joey can all attest to how kind, considerate and loving he was to everyone. He will be missed.

Joey was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pat Felton.

He is survived by his parents, Patty (husband, John) Seitz of Chatham; father, Jeffery Sandhaas of Springfield; siblings, Meagan N. Sandhaas of Chatham, Jayden Seitz of Riverton, Steven (fiancée, Christine) Seitz of Lincoln, and Heather (husband, Tyler) Ochs of Chatham; grandparents, Jack and Vanna Sandhaas of Springfield; girlfriend, Hannah Wood; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and his beloved dog, Jasper.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Butler Funeral Home—Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at West Side Christian Church, 2850 Cider Mill Ln., Springfield.

Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
