

Josephine "Jo" L. Pavletich, 87, of Springfield died at 3:05 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008 at St. John's Hospital. Jo was born in Springfield on April 4, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Marcella Radavich Yuscius. She married Matthew M. Pavletich on June 14, 1932 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church; he preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Stanley and John Yuscius; and two sisters, Mary Yuscius and Ann Asher. Jo was a cook and cafeteria manager at Little Flower Catholic School, retiring in 1985. Prior to her service at Little Flower she worked at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in the same capacity. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and served in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a retired member of the Blue Ridge Club Auxiliary, and a former member of the Lithuanian-American Society. She is survived by a brother, Tony (wife, Carol) Yuscius of Springfield; two sisters, Ardella Dodd and Patricia (husband, Walter) Bietsch both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield. Funeral mass will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Christopher A. House celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
