

She was born on December 3, 1941, in Jewett, IL, the daughter of James J.V. “Jude” and OlaBelle Waneta Yaw Kingery.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Martin Haldane “Red” Kingery; and several beloved dogs.
She is survived by “the love of her life”, Neil Dodson; son, Martin Fruchtl; daughter, Teresa (Bill) Trail; granddaughters, Julia (Ross) Bregant and Sarah Fruchtl; her beloved pug and best friend, Shelby; as well as many other loved ones and friends.
Judi led a full and meaningful life. She was a lifelong learner, attending several schools and universities. Judi was involved in the community whether volunteering or working for park districts, working for youth organizations, being a juvenile probation officer, or a foster parent. She was innovative, owning her own accounting/tax business and changing professions at 60 to drive a semi.
Judi was a member and officer for many years in the Springfield Luncheon Optimist Club and a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Flower City Chapter. She was also proud of having been the first female president of the Effingham Park District. Judi loved to paint, play Scrabble, and was an avid Murder She Wrote fan, but above all her family and her dogs were her life.
The family will host a graveside ceremony at a later date at Jewett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
