Judith "Judi" Wieties McCaffrey

Judi was born on June 14, 1939, in Springfield, Illinois to her parents, Albert Uffie and Margaret Ann (McDermott) Wieties. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret Wieties; and her sister, Pamela Suzanne Wieties.

Judi is survived by her daughter, Jodie Anne (Mark) Hovey; brother, Larry (Becky) Wieties; grandchildren, Ryan Hovey and Sarah Hovey (Sam Sergent); and great grandson, Jaxson Sergent; niece, Lori Wieties; great aunts, Anita Hayes and Doris Woods; and many special cousins and friends.

Judi attended Enos Grade School, Lanphier High School, and Springfield College. She was employed by Mutual of Omaha and retired from the State Board of Education. Judi was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, Illinois 62702.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Linda Strader officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
