

She was born in Effingham, IL on April 6, 1938, to the late Martin and Gertrude Zehner (nee Willenborg).
Judy attended St. Anthony School in Effingham and received her nursing degree from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, IL. After marrying Paul W. Mueller on June 11, 1960, the couple lived in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Springfield and raised their family Marty (Carolyn), Linda, Paul R. (Lisa), and the late Teresa (Scott Kovacic). Judy worked as a compassionate and caring nurse, was faith-filled and active at St. Joseph Church, and enjoyed quilting, reading, and playing pinochle.
Cherished grandmother of Zachary Citrone, Miranda Citrone, Elias Citrone, the late Christine Mueller, and Lauren Mueller. Step-grandmother of Eric and Holly Fair. Dear great-grandmother of Arabella Freeman.
Visitation at 8:45 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021, at St. Joseph Church, 1345 North Sixth Street, Springfield. Due to COVID concerns, social distancing rules will be observed, and masks required.
Interment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery, immediate family only.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
