

Judith Reimer Ross ascended into heaven on September 19, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a brave and hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on July 7th, 1937 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to John E. "Jack" and Effie Fruzen Reimer. They preceded her in death. Judie is survived by her sister, Beverly Kramer of Appleton, Wisconsin. Judie was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Education where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She taught elementary school in Madison, Wisconsin. She married S. David Ross II MD on September 3rd, 1966. They have seven children, Erich J. Bloxdorf (wife, Mary), John D. Ross (wife, Tammy), Heidi A. Kerz (Fianc, Todd Clearwater), Kay M. Baker (husband, Bret), Julie A. Pabst (husband, David), S. David Ross III (wife, Rhonda) and Jennifer R. Hughes (husband, David). The center in her life was always her family, friends and neighbors. Judie has 10 grandchildren Corie and Allie Bloxdorf, Rachael and Payne Kerz, Eva Baker, Luke and Claire Pabst, Kate and Jack Ross and Charlie Hughes. She is also survived by her golden retriever, Lillian Rose. One nephew and two nieces also survive her. Judie was a member of St. Agnes Parish. She belonged to the Sangamo Club, Sea Pines Plantation Club, and Illini Country Club. She was also a member of the Springfield Art Association and the Springfield Symphony Guild and was on the Board of Directors of both organizations. Judie was an avid golfer who played on several city tournament teams for Illini Country Club. She won many tournaments as a child in Wisconsin and as an adult. Notably, she won the Illinois Women State Amateur in her flight, twice. She loved sports cars and was named the German Amateur Porsche Club Driver of the Year in 1966 & 1967. She enjoyed her flower gardens, shopping and trips to "the boat". Judie supported the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, IL 62703, where donations may be made on her behalf. Contributions may also be made to St. John's Home Health, c/o Friends of St. John's Hospital, 800 E. Carpenter, Springfield, IL 62769. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Jallas, celebrant. Private entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park at the Ross family mausoleum.
