Julie Diane Reed

Julie D. Reed, 51, of Springfield, passed away on May 19, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 12, 1973 in Jacksonville to John DeGroot and Betty McCombs DeGroot. Julie married Michael Reed on August 1, 2015 and he survives.

Mrs. Reed is survived by one daughter Jillian Reed, Mother and Father-in-law Tom and Rose Reed, sister-in-law Heidi Reed, brother-in-law Kevin Gregory and two nephews: Jonathon (Karen) Gregory and Jason Gregory. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Becky Gregory and two brothers: Randy and John DeGroot.

Julie attended A-C Central High School and Springfield High School. She worked for the State of Illinois and as a teachers aid at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. She enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday May 24, 2025 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Ashland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00am until the time of service Saturday at Bisch West. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
