

Karen Elizabeth Carpenter, 59, of Springfield, passed away at 11:17 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2001 at her residence. Karen was born May 11, 1942 the daughter of Richard K. and Susan Bunton Perry in Peoria. She married Thomas R. Carpenter March 24, 1962 in Springfield. Mrs. Carpenter had worked as a nurses assistant for Memorial Medical Center and she also worked for JcPenny's Warehouse receiving area. She attended Southside Church of the Nazerine. She was preceded in death by her father Richard K. Perry and her stepfather Larry Eddington; her husband, Thomas Carpenter and one grandson Jonathon Norris. She is survived by her mother: Suzanne Eddington of Springfield; one son: Greg (wife, Tonya) Carpenter of Springfield; four daughters: Mindy (husband, Bill) Carpenter Hammitt of Springfield, Kathy (husband, Bill) Carpenter Mort of Springfield; Shannon (husband, Bill) Carpenter Norris of Decatur; Tonya (husband, Barry) Carpenter Wilson of Divernon and fourteen grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 9-10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2001. Funeral Services will be held at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2001 with Reverend Gary Davey officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
