Kathleen Marie Shore

Kathleen Marie (Brock) Shore, 64, of Springfield, passed away at 8:48 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at her home. Kathleen was born July 16, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Robert Odell and Lorraine Marie (Byrne) Brock. Kathleen was a 1969 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was employed with IL Bell, Ameritech, SBC, and AT&T, retiring after 34 years. She began with key punch and then became an instructor and moved into instruction design. Kathleen also volunteered as a floor manager with Sangamon Auditorium. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, basket weaving, and volunteering for the Junior Achievement Association. She was deeply involved in her beloved grandchildren's lives. She was preceded in death by her parents and several beloved pets. Kathleen is survived by her sons, David A. and Michael A. Shore, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Nickolas D., Kyle D., Kassaundra G., and Mason A. Shore; eight siblings, David M. (Theresa) Brock of Pontiac, Robert (Sandy) Brock of Springfield, Mary (Dayton) Stephens of Peoria, Thomas Brock of Springfield, James (Pam) Brock of Kansas City, MO, Margaret (Renaldo) Jacques of Peoria, Theresa (Ron) Hergenrother and Tina (Ray) Gladden, both of Springfield; aunt, Dorothy Finn of Macomb; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She married Allen D. Shore in February of 1970, and later divorced. Funeral Ceremony and Visitation: A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Family will receive friends following the ceremony until 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
