Kathryn "Katie" J. Brown

Kathryn "Katie" J. Brown, 94, of Chatham passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman. She was born October 29, 1918 in Girard to Victor and Stella Marie Bellegante. She married George Brown June 30, 1945. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her brother Tony Bellegante, sisters Clara Passalacqua and Stella (Mary) Surratt. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Joann M. Brown of Springfield, Vicki (Michael) Goddard of California, Maryland, Mary Jo (Stephen) Sotak of Springfield; granddaughters, Kathryn (Michael) Brock of California, Maryland, Kimberly (John) Mague of Waldorf, Maryland, Christina Sotak of Moro, Il, and Kelly Sotak of Champaign; 6 great grandchildren, Julie, Anthony, Nikolas, Regan, Shane, Logan; sister, Helen Burke of Girard, and her beloved pet Missy. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and special care given to their mother by the nursing staff at Villa East, and the wonderful care given by Ashley and Jennifer of Passages. Also special thanks to Dr. James Crabtree for his care and devotion to our mother. Visitation and funeral mass: Her family will greet friends from 9AM, Tuesday, October 1, until the time of the funeral mass at 10am, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, E. Spruce Street, Chatham.
