

Keith Lehmann, 88, of Springfield, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. Keith was born April 17, 1921 in Peoria, the son of William and LuLu Lewis Lehmann. He married Mary Elizabeth Summers on August 8, 1939. She preceded him in death. Keith started his employment at Firestone and Tom McCann Shoes. He owned and operated Lehmann's Shell Station on Peoria Road for 11 years. He then went on to work for and retire from Prudential Insurance after 42 years of service. He belonged to the Elks Lodge 158, was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Charter Member of the Aqua Sports Club, belonged to Knights of Columbus 364 and was also a 4 degree knight. He was a very family oriented man with very strong work ethic. He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Nathan Cooke; his brother Eugene; his twin brother Kenneth; and his sisters, Irene Froehlich and Vivian Allsup. He is survived by his two sons, Kenneth (Olwyn) Lehmann of Glen Ellyn and Kevin (Gail) Lehmann of Springfield; three daughters, Konnie Comerford-Kensil and Karole Cooke-Bell, both of Springfield, and Kolleen (Blane) Mendenhall of Williamsville; grandchildren, Tricia (Rick) Arnold, Tracey (Joe) Nocek, Janell (Matt) Wozniak, Anne (Greg) Pease, Rhonda (Chris) Carter, Rachelle (Bob) Bartnick, Nicholas (Mavis) Cooke, Jill Franklin, James (Michelle) Comerford, Brian (Laurie) Mendenhall and Kyle Mendenhall; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Arnold, Jonathan, Daniel and Robert Nocek, Elle and Ryan Pease, Nate and Allex Wozniak, Carmen, Carissa, Clair and Chloe Carter, Luke, Jack and Ella Grace Bartnick, Ava and Apolo Cooke, Cameron and Lilly Franklin, Elizabeth and Claire Comerford, Mackenzie, Austin and Riley Mendenhall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence, Springfield, with Rev. Christopher A. House, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
