

Kenneth R. Miller, 101, of Springfield, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 3, 1924 in Petersburg, Illinois to Walter Miller and Myrtle Norris Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gene Pelham Miller; and siblings Mildred Miller, Beulah Brandmeyer, Herschel Miller, Walter Miller, Harold Miller, Wilma Ortman, June Wiggins and Willard Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by his children, Steve Miller, Dave (Hilda) Miller, and Lisa (Alan) Stickel, all of Springfield. There are two grandchildren, Matthew Stickel of Springfield and Brooke Stickel of Jersey City, New Jersey. And one brother, Arthur (Carolyn) Miller of Naperville. There are several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was a US Army Veteran who served in Northern France and Central Europe during World War II from April 1943 until December 1945. After the service he worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1983. In early retirement he enjoyed playing golf. He worked part-time in the pro shop at Pasfield Golf Course. Kenneth and his wife, Gene, were active members of West Side Christian Church's TNT Sunday School Class. For over 25 years, they were Arizona snowbirds. They were also active in their church in Arizona. They made many new "snowbird" friends who enjoyed going out to eat together and playing card games.
Cremation rites were accorded and private services were held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
