She was born in Louisiana, MO, April 2, 1960 the daughter of L. Kermit and Mary Nell (Geiger) McFarland. Her mother, preceded her in death.
Kernelle was a dedicated member of the team at Springfield Marine Bank for many years until her health declined. She was raised in the Presbyterian faith, attended Elliot Ave. Baptist Church and later Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rochester, IL. She found joy and comfort in attending worship and both group and personal Bible study. She enjoyed playing cards, but above all, the biggest joy in her life was her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Alison Henry, two grandchildren; Ely Jordan and Ethan Christopher, all of Springfield, her companion Larry Hughes of Springfield, her father, Kermit, of Louisiana, MO, three brothers: Raymond (wife Suzanne) McFarland of Lubbock, TX, Arthur McFarland of Springfield, IL, and Jim (wife Sherry) McFarland of Kansas City, MO. She has four nephews and one niece.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
