

He was born on September 25, 1963, in Cincinnati, OH.
Kevin joined Job Corp when he was 16. That is where he took up cooking, which became his passion. Kevin’s desire was to become a chef. He mastered cooking to the point that his family believed he could have stood up to any trained chef. Kevin was employed as a cook with Bob Evans for over 21 years. He was a faithful member of Destiny Church. Kevin loved to make people laugh, and spending time with his family and church.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Carter Smith of Springfield; mother, Helen (Roscoe) Carter Richmond of GA; children, Krystal, Kamilia and Kayla Carter, all of GA, Dynastie (Aaron) Everist, Kevin “Kacy” Carter, Jr., Kendle Carter, Kadynn Carter, and Divine Grace Carter, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren; siblings, Annjaunette (Benjamin) Phillips Clay and Terence Carter, both of Georgia; four great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Destiny Church, 1425 N. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. Eric Hansen officiating. Family requests white or any color except black attire be worn.
