

Larry Pulley, 57, of Springfield, died at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Larry was born April 17, 1958 in Marion, the son of Barney Pulley, Jr. and Patricia J. Berkel Pulley. They preceded him in death. He married Cherie Ann DeCroix on April 23, 2005 in Springfield. Larry was a 1977 graduate of Carterville Community High School and attended John A Logan College. He worked for the Illinois Secretary of State in the Physical Services Department. Larry was a member of the Lions Club in Carterville, and had served as President. He always had SIU basketball season tickets and was also an avid Cardinals fan. Larry enjoyed everything about Abe Lincoln. He had an amazing respect for veterans and took it upon himself to supply a bible for every fallen veteran's family in the state. He is survived by his wife, Cherie Pulley of Springfield; two brothers, Jerry Pulley (Robin Deering) of Marion and Philip G. (wife, Cynthia) Pulley of Downs; mother-in-law, Carol DeCroix; one brother-in-law, Jon DeCroix of Petersburg; and five nieces and nephews, Jessica (husband, Christopher) McCowan, Marie Pulley, Laura Pulley, Brittney DeCroix, and Danielle DeCroix. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Kenney officiating and Pastor Joe Bob Pierce assisting.
