She graduated from Glenwood High School and earned her associate degree from Lincoln Land Community College. Laura was accepted into the nursing program and had hoped to obtain her nursing degree, but her health prevented her from starting the program. She was employed as a CNA with Memorial Medical Center and in the Ophthalmology Department at Springfield Clinic. Laura was a member of Cherry Hills Church and the EDS support group that she helped forge. She was very active in the EDS Community, spreading awareness about the disease and how it impacted her life. Laura was very passionate about sharing any information she could to help others.
Laura was truly a kind-spirited person who loved helping others in her own special way. She was smart and a great friend to many. She was the strongest and most determined person anyone would ever meet. Laura believed that one should never give up on what they believe in and to always fight for your passions no matter how many struggles life throws at you. Laura advocated and cared for her friends and family, never giving up hope. She loved all of her friends she met along the way in life, school, and church. Laura loved her sister, brother-in-law, and two amazing nephews, but most of all her mother, with whom she shared a special bond
Laura loved to read books, especially the Harry Potter Series. She enjoyed knitting socks, sweaters, and scarves for her friends and family. Laura also enjoyed crafting and watching her favorite Disney movies. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed seeing her nephews grow. Laura would play games with her nephew, Liam and enjoyed reading to her nephew, Cayden. She loved her beloved dog, Sonny, he was her pride and joy. Laura also loved her puppy nephew, Max who would sit on her lap.
