

Laura Jane Walsh, 89, of Springfield died 7:35 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2001 at Lipe's Care Home in Springfield. She was born September 29, 1911, the daughter of Matthew and Chloe Collins Sinclair in Tullula, Illinois. She married John P. Walsh at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in 1934. Mrs. Walsh had worked at Illinois Watch Factory and retired from Fink's Cleaners. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Ladies Guild and was a 60 year member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxillary. She was also a volunteered at St. Joseph's School. She is preceded in death by her parents, son James Walsh and her husband, John P. Walsh on July 30, 1972. Surviving are two sons, John Patrick Walsh, III (wife, Neva), of Chatham, Edward J. (wife, JoAnne) Walsh of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Marilyn (husband, Joe) Gruber of Bradley, IL.; two sisters, Lorna Ray of St. Louis, MO., Louise Janet of Springfield; one brother, Robert Dale Sinclair of Petersburg; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family of Laura Walsh is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 South Sixth Street in Springfield. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2001. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2001 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Render, CSV officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tuition fund for St. Joseph's School, 1344 North 5th Street, Springfield, IL 62702.
