Lena Lucille Groves

Lena Lucille Groves, 82, of Springfield died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice. Lena was born April 22, 1921 in Springfield the daughter of Giovanni and Leonilda Forner Parisotto. She married Roy Groves, September 6, 1947 in Springfield; he preceded her in death December 28, 1983. Mrs. Groves was a homemaker and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Joseph and Americo Parisotto and one sister: Gloria Johnson. She is survived by four daughters: Roleen (husband, Greg) Thoele, Charlotte (husband, Roger) Brickler, Joyce (husband, Curt) Hayes all of Springfield, and Carol Bokamp of Rockford; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Theresa Pemberton of Springfield, Rena Messana of Buffalo, NY; one brother: Rudy Parisotto of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at St. Aloysius Catholic Church from 12 – 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Meehling celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, One Hanover Park, 16633 N.
