Leonard, the son of Edward and Mary Scott Hodge, was born on July 24, 1927, in Cache, IL. He married Carolyn Perkins on April 27, 1957, in Springfield, IL.
Leonard was employed by the Illinois Secretary of State for 35 years. Most important to him was his baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1969, and his service as an elder for 48 years. He enjoyed his ministry, being a grandfather, and his favorite hobbies of photography and model trains.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Demma Hodge, Vernon Hodge, Hazel Nelson, Kenneth Hodge, and Wilbert Hodge
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hodge of Springfield; two sons, Kelvin West of Decatur, IL and Rodney (wife, Deborah) Hodge, Sr. of Springfield; two daughters, Marcia (husband, Warren) Foster of Springfield and Valerie Eubanks of Ft. Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Jacqueline (husband, Julian) Clark, Rodney (wife, Analiese) Hodge, Jr., and Kenny (wife, Kiara) Eubanks; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with Angela Sappington who was a loving caregiver.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
