

Linda Bromberg, 54, of Chatham, died at 1:41 p.m. on January 5, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Linda was born February 22, 1954 in Gallipolis, OH, the daughter of George Marce and Eula Grace Gilbert Hodge. She married Michael David Bromberg. Linda earned a Master's in Theology from Ohio Dominican University. Prior to moving to Springfield, she was employed there as an adjunct professor. Linda was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She was a gifted singer and a great mother. She also enjoyed photography and scrapbooking, but being Nana to her grandchildren was the most important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Grace Hodge and her mother-in-law and father-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Michael David Bromberg of Chatham; two sons, Michael (wife, Angel) Slusher of Gahanna, OH and Joshua (wife, Chrystal) Bromberg of Chatham; one daughter, Angelia (husband, David) Foster of Chatham; her father, George Marce Hodge of Blanchester, OH; was Nana to ten grandchildren, Michael, Shelby, Sidney, Sophie, Sanibelle, Davis, John-Michael, Benjamin, Tanner and Jacob and one great-grandson, Hayden; and is also survived by one sister, Deborah Mason of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Ronald Hodge of Goshen, OH and David Hodge of Blanchester, OH; and many other family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass will be a t 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield with Rev. David Hoefler celebrant. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 687 E. Linton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703.
