

Linda was born on May 21, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Edwin and Beatrice Schmitz Shirk. She married Byron Eugene “Gene” Mizeur in 1956, in Springfield; he preceded her in death.
Linda was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was a stay-at-home mom and also spent many years working as a seamstress. Linda enjoyed quilting, sewing, puzzles, traveling, music, video gaming, gardening, and in her younger years, played the piano.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Cort and Sheila Shirk.
She is survived by her four sons, Gregory (wife, Mary Lynn) of Springfield, Jeffrey (wife, Melissa) of Athens, Zachary (wife, Dana) of Taylorville, and Jeremy (significant other, Tracey Switzer) Mizeur of Springfield; one daughter, Vicki (husband, Jeff) Vandeveer of Pleasant Plains; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five siblings, Pam Brock of Montana, Marsha O’Donnell of Cincinnati, OH, Paul Shirk of Arizona, Rex Shirk of California, and Rita Garvey of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 South Walnut St., Springfield. A Funeral Mass with be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Avenue West, Springfield.
