Linda K. Stanley

She was born in Springfield on November 4, 1943, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Hunt) Scheina. Linda married Walter Stanley on January 25, 1964.

Linda graduated from Lanphier High School with the class of 1961. She retired from the Springfield Public School District in October of 2004 after 20 years of service. She served as Springfield High School’s secretary and bookkeeper to the principal for 19 years. Linda was also employed at Central Illinois Allergy and Respiratory Clinic for almost 10 years, Xerox Corporation for 10 years, Illinois Association of Real Estate Boards, and Illinois National Insurance Company. She was a faithful member of West Side Christian Church for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jordyn Coonrod; and sisters, Carla Davis and Beverly Huse.

Linda is survived by her husband, Walt; daughters, Sherry (Alex) Miller of Riverton and Debbie Stubbs of Springfield; granddaughter, Kalli (Isaiah Cooper) Stubbs; brother, Tony Scheina of Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren, Layla Myers and Sloane Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield, until the time of the Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Lash officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
