

Lois M. Bennett, 80, of Springfield, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Lois was born April 27, 1934 in Lanesville, IL, the daughter of Howard G. and Lucille Rice Bottrell. She married Allan E. Bennett on November 2, 1952 at Illiopolis Methodist Church; he preceded her in death on July 30, 2012. Lois graduated from Illiopolis High School and was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of Dawson United Methodist Church and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 32. She loved her family, their history and anything that reminded her of them. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn A. Bottrell. She is survived by her son, Allan F. (wife, Gina) Bennett of Springfield; daughter, Lois A. Bennett of Danville; two grandchildren, Crystal Bennett of Danville and Jacob Allan Bennett of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Maya and Elias Bennett of Danville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Kirlin- Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Dick Piscatelli officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
