

Lois was born on June 18, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Elmer and Faye Ball Fischer. She married Dr. James T. Burton on August 4, 1951 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on December 13, 2019.
Lois was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Island Bay Yacht Club, the Art Association, Junior League, PEO, Book Review Club (founded in 1910), and Kings Daughters-Mary A. Lawrence Circle (established in 1905). Lois enjoyed sailing, tennis, and gardening. Through the years, she was devoted and cared for her disabled son.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory Burton and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (wife, Kathryn) Burton of Highland Park, IL and Timothy D. Burton of Momence, IL; and one grandchild, Tyler Burton of Mundelein, IL; brother, Elmer Carl (wife, Kay) Fischer of Springfield; and three nieces.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Fancy Creek Cemetery in Williamsville.
