Lonnie was born on May 17, 1974, in Springfield, the son of Ron and Beverly S. (Johnston) Mason.
He attended Southeast High School and worked at Wilson’s Leather Company and several other retail stores. He enjoyed painting, jewelry making, composing short stories, and reading.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his grandparents and his long-time companion, Buffy M. Nickel.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Britt (wife, Kimberly) of Albuquerque, NM; four uncles, Marvin (wife, Sandra) of Madison, FL, Melvin of Madison, FL, Wayne (wife, Linda) of Denver, CO, and David of Gillespie; two nephews, Caleb (wife, Kenzie) of Hettick and Collin (wife, Whitney) of Carlinville, and their mother, Pam of Divernon; several cousins; his dog, Dixie; and his cat, Harley Quinn.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield.
