Lori A. Smith, 55, of Springfield, died at 7:27 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Lori was born March 24, 1963 in Springfield, the daughter of William and Ellen Solomon Osborne. She married Ronald A. Smith on December 5, 1986 in Springfield. Lori graduated from Lanphier High School and earned her bachelors degree in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She was employed as a teacher for Church of the Little Flower and then for District 186 Washington Middle School. Lori loved teaching, reading, being in Florida in the water, and swimming. She was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ron Smith of Springfield; children, Stephanie and Timothy Smith, both of Springfield; two brothers, Duane and Mark Osborne of Springfield; and aunt, Penny (husband, William) Nitto. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A eulogy ceremony and prayer will follow at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
