

Lorraine Ida Flannigan, 56, of Sherman, formerly of Lyons, IL, died at 1:14 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her home. Lorraine was born November 23, 1955 in Berwyn, IL, the daughter of Robert and Hildegard Naus. She married William Flannigan on June 21, 1975 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Lyons. Lorraine was a graduate of Morton High School and received her associate's degree in business from Lincoln Land Community College. She worked for Allstate Insurance for 10 years before establishing her own independent real estate appraisal service. Lorraine was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, ball room dancing, cooking, baking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Naus. She is survived by her husband, Bill Flannigan of Sherman; daughter, Elizabeth (husband, Walter) Dragon of Lumberton, NJ; son, Michael Flannigan of Industry; five grandchildren, Josephine Dragon, Patrick, Emma, Riley and Connor Flannigan; mother, Hilde Naus of Oak Brook; one sister, Susan (husband, Michael) Berthelot of Oswego; one uncle, Alex Geringhoff, several nieces and nephews as well as several cousins in Germany. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: An additional visitation will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Williamsville United Methodist Church, 128 E. Jones, Williamsville. Funeral ceremony will begin following the visitation at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Pennell officiating. Burial will follow at Fancy Creek Cemetery.
