Louann T. Pittman

Louann T. Burnett Pittman, 68, of Springfield, died at 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. Louann was born January 20, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of Henry George and Marietta V. Davis Becker. She married Robert H. Pittman, Sr. on September 1, 1972. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2004. Louann graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1958. She was a faithful member of Church of the Little Flower. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, an avid gardener, a great cook, and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who followed her family to all their activities. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by four children, Brian P. (wife, Shelly) Burnett of Springfield, Whitney J. (wife, Heather) Burnett of Chatham, Laura Menghini of Athens and Robert H. (wife, Angela) Pittman, Jr. of Springfield; close family friend, Tina Pittman of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Amber R. Pittman, Robert H. Pittman, III, Nikolas B. Shaughnessy, Sadie E. Menghini, Amy M. Menghini, Kara C. Pittman, Clayton P. Burnett, Nolan H. Burnett and Sophie A. Burnett; one great-grandson, Braedyn R. Pittman; four brothers, Henry G. (wife, Kaye) Becker, Jr. of N. Olmsted, OH, Rev. Robert T. Becker, William D. (wife, Karen) Becker and J. Barry (wife, Patricia) Becker all of Springfield; one sister, Lynne M. (husband, Court) Dickason of Springfield; one aunt, Julia Becker of Springfield; nine nieces; twelve nephews; forty great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Joseph's Home, 3306 S. 6th St. Rd., Springfield, IL 62703-4709.
