

Malachi was born on August 31, 2003 in Springfield, the son of Willie Williams and Sequoia Perkins.
Malachi was a senior at Lanphier High School. He enjoyed playing basketball, playing video games, spending time with his friends and family, and sporting the best clothes.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sam Fields; maternal great-grandmother, Rosetta Perkins; paternal Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Williams; and one uncle, Anthony “Tony” Carter.
He is survived by his mother, Sequoia Perkins of Springfield; his father, Willie Williams of St. Louis, MO; maternal grandma, Cynthia (Stanley) Jenkins of Springfield, maternal great-grandpa, Alton Perkins of Springfield, and paternal grandma, Valorie Benton of Springfield; paternal great-grandma, Poletha Webster of Springfield; five siblings, Damarion Scott, Myondre Anderson, and Malik Williams, all of Springfield, and Maliah and Milan Williams, both of St. Louis, MO; aunts, Shanna Williams, Sherrell Meek, Danielle and Jarinda Jenkins, all of Springfield, and Aliyyah and Ayyanna Nailing, both of FL; one uncle, Paris Meek of Springfield; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Boardman- Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield, IL. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
A private family funeral with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will be held.
