

Margaret was born on July 8, 1937, in Warsaw, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Edna McGovern Mondon. She married James W. Davis on June 2, 1957, in Virginia, IL.
Margaret was a graduate of Virginia High School. She worked as a secretary for Hope Presbyterian Church in the 1970s and retired from Springfield Clinic in the 1990s as a Medical Transcriptionist. Margaret was very interested in Depression Glass. She belonged to the Depression Glass Club and taught a class at Lincoln Land Community College on Depression Glass. She also enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, playing Words with Friends, and researching ancestry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Elmer “David” Mondon.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Davis of Springfield; three sons, Brad (wife, Candy) Davis of Springfield, Mark Davis of Springfield, and Terry (wife, Terry) Davis of Park Ridge, NJ; and one grandchild, Lindsay Davis.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
