

Margaret was born March 18, 1925 in Springfield, the daughter of Michael and Margaret Quigley Sullivan. She married William P. Sheehan on January 29, 1949 in Louisiana, MO. He preceded her in death.
Margaret was born the youngest of nine children. She was later adopted by her cousin, Andrew J. Murphy, Jr. of Louisiana, MO. Margaret graduated from Louisiana High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Maryville College of the Sacred Heart in St. Louis, MO. She had a "green thumb" and enjoyed working in her yard and sitting on her porch. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a former Democratic precinct committeeman and had a rich sense of humor. A member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, she was also a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Also preceding Margaret in death are her brothers, Timothy, Paul, and Joseph Sullivan; sisters, Mary Henn, Helen LaBonte, Catherine Ryan, and Sr. Rose Margaret, O.P. (Loretta); her parents; and adoptive father.
She is survived by her children, Anne D. (husband, Larry) Antonacci, Patrick J. (wife, Carla) Sheehan, William J. (former wife, Marilyn) Sheehan, Michael D. Sheehan, and Timothy J. (wife, Mary Jo) Sheehan, all of Springfield; grandchildren, William E. (wife, Nichol) Antonacci, Ellen T. (husband, Michael) Bartletti, Peter W. (wife, Nicole Hager) Sheehan, Margaret A. (husband, Joseph) Kulek, Robert W. Sheehan, Catherine R. Sheehan, Sally E. Antonacci (fianc, Josh Champion), Brian P. Sheehan, Kelly E. Sheehan, William P. Sheehan, Andrew J. Sheehan, Patrick J. Sheehan, Jennifer A. Sheehan, Casey R. Sheehan, and Mary Margaret Sheehan; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Samuel Antonacci, Louis, Rose, Maria, and Antonette Bartletti, Elizabeth and Leah Kulek, and Caroline Sheehan; sister, Frances Eimer; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ann (Sheehan) Kiefer, Helen Sullivan, Margaret Sullivan, and Virginia Sullivan; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St, Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. David J. Hoefler, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
