Maria Suzanne "Suzi" Boyd

Suzi was born on July 9, 1940, in Marion, IL, the daughter of Robert and Phyllis (Phillips) Lee. She married Raymond W. Boyd on August 3, 1963, at Central Baptist Church in Springfield. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2005.

Suzi graduated from Springfield High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. She enjoyed doing Zumba, running, biking, and being outdoors. Suzi loved her cats, spending time with family, visiting with her friends, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Above all, she took great pride in her grandkids.

Suzi was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Yvonne) Boyd of Athens; daughter, Bobbi (Mike) Likar of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Alyssa (Derek) Coppinger, Karli Likar, Carson Likar, and Adam Boyd; and her beloved cat, Yadi.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Dave Nicholson officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
