

Maria Leka, of Buffalo, died on May 19, 2015 in Buffalo. Maria was the daughter of Alejandro and Nora Bodelon Fernandez. She married George Leka on March 11, 1981 in Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. She is survived by her husband, George Leka; three sons, Mark Slavens of Dayton, OH, Randall (wife, Tonya) Leka of Buffalo, and Kelly (wife, Kathy) Leka of Springfield; one daughter, Jill Leka of Springfield; six grandchildren, Jenna Slavens of Dayton, OH, Nicolette (husband, Jason) Baccadutre of St. Joseph, Patrick Leka of Ventura, CA, Candice Leka of Champaign, Dalton Leka of Buffalo, and Teresa Larson of Waco, TX; two great-grandchildren; mother, Nora Fernandez of Maria Teresa, Argentina; five sisters, including Elda (husband, Melvin) Hill of Jacksonville; niece Jennifer Hill of North Carolina; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Maria had a passion for travel (visiting six out of seven continents), the performing arts, and flower gardening. Maria loved her family and friends and believed in giving back to the community. She will be missed by all. The family is hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Inn at 835, 835 S. 2nd Street, Springfield.
