

Marilyn A. Freeman, nee McBride (60), of Sherman, lost her 22-month battle with cancer at 8:34am, September 29, 2011, at Oak Terrace hospice care. Marilyn was born August 30, 1951 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of William and Irene White McBride. She married Carl G. Freeman on March 14, 1987 in Lansing, IL. Marilyn attended Hammond Tech High School in Hammond, IN. She loved to crochet, making baby blankets for all new arrivals in her family and wide circle of friends. She liked crafts, and loved to help others with their projects. She was an animal lover and supported her local shelter frequently. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Kuhn. She is survived by her husband, Carl of Sherman; four children, Donna (companion, Jim Parsons) Krizik of Gurnee, Janet (companion, Scott Petersen) Freeman of Round Lake Park, IL, Clint (wife, Catherine) Freeman of Tampa, FL and Kristin (husband, Don) Fleming of East Bethel, MN; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Samuel and Isabella Freeman; sister, Maureen Petkey of Highland, IN; brother, Edward (wife, Doris) McBride of Pleasantville, IN; aunt, Alice McBride of Hammond, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Ceremony: 3pm on October 8th at Ray's 66 Diner, 110 Villa Pkwy, Sherman.
